Frequently asked questions

What should a leave application letter include?

A clear subject line with the leave type and dates, who you are addressing, the type of leave, the start and end dates and total days, a brief reason, a note about handover or coverage, a request for approval, and your signature. This tool fills all of that in for you.

Which leave types are supported?

Sick, casual, annual, maternity, paternity, bereavement and unpaid leave. The body of the letter adds a sentence tailored to the type you pick, so a sick leave note reads differently from a maternity or bereavement one.

How do I send the letter once it is generated?

Use Copy to paste it straight into an email to your manager or HR, or use Download to save it as a .txt file you can attach or print. The Print button opens your browser print dialog for a paper or PDF copy.

Is my information sent to a server?

No. The letter is built entirely in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing you type, including your name, dates or reason, is uploaded, logged or stored anywhere.

Can I edit the letter after generating it?

Yes. Treat the output as a starting point. Copy it into your email or editor and adjust the tone, add policy references, or include attachments such as a medical certificate if your employer requires one.

What date format should I use?

Any readable format works because the dates are inserted as plain text. You can type June 12, 2026, 12 June 2026, or 2026-06-12. Whatever you enter is what appears in the subject line and body.
