Frequently asked questions
Is this a substitute for legal advice?
No. This generator produces a general-purpose starting template, not legal advice. Employment law varies by country, state, and industry, so review the result and have a qualified HR professional or lawyer adapt it before you add it to your handbook.
Is my company information sent to a server or stored?
No. Each section is assembled entirely in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing you type, including your company name and custom points, is uploaded, logged, or saved anywhere. Closing the tab clears it.
Which handbook sections can I generate?
Eight common policies: code of conduct, anti-harassment and non-discrimination, remote work, dress code, social media, attendance and punctuality, confidentiality and data protection, and health and safety. Generate each one and combine them into your full handbook.
What is the difference between the formal and friendly tone?
Formal uses traditional policy language written in the third person, which suits established companies and legal review. Friendly keeps the same rules but uses a warmer, more conversational voice that many startups and small teams prefer. The structure and headings stay the same.
How do custom points work?
Anything you add as a custom point is appended to the section under an Additional Guidelines heading as a bullet list. Use it for company-specific rules the standard template does not cover, such as badge access, parking, or tool-specific policies. Blank rows are ignored.
Can I edit the generated section afterward?
Yes. The output is plain Markdown you can paste into Google Docs, Notion, a wiki, or any editor. Treat it as a draft: adjust the wording to fit your culture, fill in any specifics, and have it reviewed before it goes into your official handbook.
