What is cost per click (CPC)?
CPC is the average price you pay each time someone clicks your ad. It equals total ad spend divided by the number of clicks, so $200 spent on 400 clicks is a $0.50 CPC.
What is the difference between CPC and CPM?
CPC charges you per click, while CPM charges per thousand impressions regardless of clicks. CPC ties cost to engagement, whereas CPM ties cost to reach. Use CPM for awareness and CPC for traffic or conversions.
How does CTR relate to CPC?
Click-through rate is clicks divided by impressions, times 100. A higher CTR usually signals more relevant ads, which most platforms reward with a lower CPC, so improving CTR is one of the cleanest ways to bring your cost per click down.
